Lake Villa Oriental Rug Cleaning

More Than a Quick
In-and-Out Service.

High-quality Oriental rugs trap dirt deep inside their fibers — fast. Vacuuming barely touches the surface; the dirt closer to the bottom of the pile keeps grinding away at the fibers and wears the rug down faster than it should. If you've ever dropped a book on a "clean" rug and watched a cloud of dust come up, you've seen it firsthand.

We start with a thorough survey to determine fiber content and construction — wool, silk, cotton, synthetic, hand-knotted, machine-woven — and clean accordingly. Because rugs are removable, we take them to our shop for the best results. That's where the time and the equipment live.

Rug Types We Clean

Every Origin, Every Design.
From Persian to Tibetan.

We've cleaned just about every rug tradition in the world. Each one needs the right method matched to its fiber, weave, and dye chemistry — that's where the survey-first approach matters.

Iran

Persian

The most renowned rug tradition in the world. Tabriz, Kashan, Heriz, Gabbeh — each weave density and dye palette gets matched to its own cleaning approach.

Anatolia

Turkish

Symmetric knots, bold medallions, often wool-on-wool construction. Built for longevity — cleans up beautifully with the right pH.

Caucasus

Caucasian

Tribal geometric patterns, coarser weave, deeply saturated natural dyes. Handled with care to preserve color and collectibility.

Central Asia

Turkmen

Distinctive "gul" medallions on deep red grounds, dense weave, often smaller sizes. Gentle washing preserves the patina.

Tibet

Tibetan

Senneh loop knot construction, often contemporary designs. Highland wool takes color beautifully — gentle chemistry keeps its sheen.

China

Chinese

Low-density weave, often with carved pile and silk detailing. Subtle palettes and classical motifs — always dye-tested before cleaning.

Afghanistan

Afghan & Baluch

Hand-knotted wool with tribal geometric patterns, thick pile, deep reds and blues. Sturdy heirloom pieces that respond well to proper washing.

Contemporary

Modern & Machine-Made

Hand-tufted and machine-made area rugs in wool, synthetic, or blends. Same fiber-appropriate care, thorough rinsing, and controlled drying as traditional pieces.

The Details

Why In-Shop,
And Why It Matters.

Tap to expand each section, or read it all the way through — every customer asks at least one of these questions.

A truck-mount wand can pass over a rug in your house, but that's a quick clean — surface only. Real rug cleaning requires dusting (literally beating the dirt out before water touches the fibers), full submersion or thorough flush, and time to dry flat without damaging the foundation.

None of that happens in 45 minutes on your floor. So we pick the rug up, take it to our shop, and do it the way it should be done.

An Oriental rug is a statement piece. Keeping it looking right is partly aesthetics, partly investment protection. Aside from making the rug beautiful again, a real cleaning:

  • Pulls allergens out. Dust and dander don't just sit on the surface — they live in the foundation. Cleaning the way we do removes them.
  • Neutralizes odors at the source. Pet urine, smoke, food. We get to the molecular level instead of masking on top.
  • Extends the rug's life. Embedded dirt is abrasive — every footstep grinds it deeper into the fibers. Removing it means less wear, more years.
  • Restores color and pile. The rug you remember when it was new — that's what's actually under there once everything else comes out.

Different fibers need different chemistry and different water temperatures. Wool isn't cotton, and silk isn't either. We ID the fiber first, then choose the right pH and method. Our solutions are family- and pet-safe across the board — no harsh residues left in the rug to off-gas in your living room later.

Most carpet cleaners treat rugs as an afterthought. We don't. We have a dedicated rug-cleaning operation — see supremerugcleaning.com for the full process — and we apply the same standards whether the rug is a $200 area rug or a $20,000 antique.

I have used Supreme cleaning previously and this time was no different. Great communication, friendly and they really seem to care about what they are doing. It really feels like they are treating your home as if it was their own carpet they were cleaning. They are knowledgeable…
